Yes, it is that time of the year!
We are finishing up our work and getting ready to put our feet up and relax. You might be receiving some ‘Let’s circle back next year’ emails, or sending one yourself. After all, it is the time when we, rather than starting something new, would like to slow down and devote time and energy to reflect on the year that went by, think about what we were able to achieve, and plan what we would like to accomplish the next year.
And almost instinctively, this pause turns into lists. And that’s when the yearly rituals come in. You guessed it: The resolutions and the bucket lists.
That long-awaited trip to your dream destination, the new hobbies you want to try, reading 20+ novels, trying out new cuisines, going back to school, and the list keeps growing.
If we’re being honest, one of three things usually happens to these lists: we tick off a few things, stick with the list for a month or two, or we forget it exists altogether!
So this year, what if we tried something different? What if we gave the new year a chance without lists? Guided less by rigid goals and more by attentiveness, curiosity, and flow.
This December, we are taking the inspiration from Ras and Schiele, a DJ Duo from Belgium, who will make you dance, hum to some old tunes, and convince you to add more ‘boring’ days to your calendar.
Leaving some boxes unchecked on purpose,
Team FUEL.
